• Uterine infection after embryo transfer

Uterine infection after embryo transfer occurs in about 1 in 300 transfers. The symptoms are feeling sore or unwell, or a fever . Infection usually settles with antibiotics. There have been cases of damage to the uterus or Fallopian tubes, but this is very rare. Infection  is likely to reduce the chance of pregnancy.
