In vitro fertilization basics part 6

Eighteen hours after adding sperm to eggs, an embryologist will check for signs of fertilization. Embryos are checked again at 25 hours to look for early development, and then on day 3 and on day 5. Embryos are only obeserved when needed so that we can minimise the time they are out of the controlled environtment of the incubator.
