Blindness and vision improvement

Since 2003 research has been successfully transplanted retinal stem cells into damaged eye to restore vision. Using embryonic stem cells, scientists become able to grow sheet of top potent stem cells in the laboratory. When these sheets are transplanted over the damaged retina, the stem cells stimulate neural repair, eventually restoring vision.
