Mesenchymal stem cells in inflammatory bowel diseases therapy
Instantly, there are two routes for the administration of mesenchymal stem cells in inflammatory bowel diseases patients: intravenous administration for the systemic control of intestinal inflammation in the tharapy of luminal Chron’s diseases and ulcerative colitis, and the local administration as a therapeutic approach for patients with perianal fistulazing Chron’s diseases. Administration of autologous or allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow and adipose tissue achieved significant clinical efficacy in patients with fistulazing Chron’s disease by attenuating local immune response and by promoting tissue repair.
